Being able to focus on dates and have nodes (that are referring to that date) automatically show up will be a great addition and - in my case - replace another app that does exactly that. Would be great to have Checkvist as my main note taking app!
Hi @maxkir , I use NotePlan as a note-taking app and mainly create my notes in outline format. Since Noteplan is built around daily notes, you can add a date to a specific line or bullet. As a result, when you create a new daily note on that date, the relevant line is shown as a reference at the top of that daily note.
However, Checkvist is my favorite because of its keyboard shortcut approach, so implementing this feature will be great.
This would be a killer feature, especially if you allow for the user to define templates that get automatically inserted into the daily node (for e.g. routine habits or reminders). Right now I am emulating such a function with Zapier, but it would be great to be able to do it natively in Checkvist. (I do this to be able to manage frequently recurring tasks in Checkvist without cluttering up my Google Calendar with daily tasks, since there is no option to sync only some lists or nodes to Google Calendar. A dedicated calendar/daily note view with the ability to control templates from within Checkvist, without having to manage them elsewhere, would improve this sort of workflow considerably.)
I would also recommend that it replace the “Due” page in the navigation, where the “due now” and “repeating tasks” views can become filters on the Calendar page, that way date-related parsing can be conveniently accessed in one location.
