I think I like the immediate editing with one click, thoughI’ll have to use it some more to be sure. I’m not sure what you mean by “preserve the cursor position after the click”.
I mean that previosly, when editing was started with double-click (as on checkvist.com now), the whole text of the item was selected. Now we try to put the cursor at the text position where the click has been made.
AFter a couple of weeks I find on balance more downside than up. Sometimes the single click is nice, but: 1) it doesn’t work when you want to click on a link in the item - it just goes to the link. So I have to stop and think each time whether I want to click in to the item or go to the link. 2) I often find myself clicking on item just because I want to start working on it - creating subitems, etc. - but end up in the editing mode and have to escape from it. I can certainly work around it, but I would prefer if this one-click behavior was optional.
I tend to agree. This click to edit approach is not very good in many cases. I’ve rolled back it now, on beta, and there is an option to switch it back.
