Prefix or Option to Prevent Auto-Due Date Formatting

Hi all! Much appreciation for Checkvist  integral part of my life and staying organized!

I wanted to give a little feedback/ask about how due dates are automatically applied right now, even without using the ^ symbol. Sometimes I’ll be typing a line item like “Check in with Jane about plans on Wednesday” and it’ll automatically format Wednesday as the due date, which isn’t what I want. I know about using \ as an escape character for the Markdown formatting, but when using on dates it doesn’t get removed from the line item.

I would love an option to disable this auto formatting because I think using the ^ is quick enough when I do want to set a due date. Alternatively, being able to use the \ to escape or some other character would be helpful too.

See image for how both of these show in Checkvist, thanks so much!

Hi @arimgibson ,

Welcome to the forum

Thanks for the question - and this one is not difficult to answer. We already have an option Due date recognition only with ^prefix in the settings of Checkvist, it looks like this is what you’re looking for. There are some other options you may find useful - please take a look.

Hope, this helps,
KIR

Ugh, thank you so much!! I did look in settings before posting this but must’ve completely missed that. Appreciate it
