New here. On iPad at the moment, but I have a MacBook. While on the iPad the virtual keyboard (the only one I use) doesn’t come up. A bit of a handicap with keyboard-centric software.
welcome!! I hope you get that sorted out ![]()
Hello,
Welcome to Checkvist ![]()
The virtual keyboard should appear when you start editing of an item with double-tap on a list item.
To add an item at the end of the list - you can use a single tap under the list contents (and probably an extra tap to set focus to the textfield)
To add a new item in the middle of the list - use “…” at the end of the selected item and find “Create item” command there.
We haven’t optimized Checkvist to work with a virtual keyboard on iPad, but it should be possible to run all the actions, using the “Command palette” window (those “…”).
Hope this helps,
KIR
Thank you. I’ll check those out.
This is making me anxious. Wanna get on with a short relatively defined project I’ve started in Dynalist. But quick scan of “quick start” page doesn’t give me a clue how to start a list. It seems to start a list you have to have a list.
I see “Create Outlines” in “Introduction to Checkvist.” Should I start there? Won’t the result be an outline in a body of Chekvist outlines? Can’t I create a mew page or a new tab in Checkvist somehow?
I’d like to paste the Dynalist list I’ve already started into a Checkvist list. It’s a list of items all at the top level. But where?
I’m usually not so at a loss in starting out with a new app. Usually comfortable learning as I go. Provided I can just see how to get started on the most basic level. Even the terminology I’m inclined to use here is likely to be inappropriate, e.g., “page.”
Sorry to be so infantile.
Well, I got started. Created title for the list. Then looked for a way to import the Dynalist list or paste it in.
“…” “Lists and List Locations” got me started. Once it struck me that typing the name of my list into that empty field would start a new list. And then “…” “Import.”
Next I see that on iPad, without ctrl, it’s gonna be hard. Not true keyboard opertated.
