How to remove duplicated list items / web bookmarks

Hi all
Since the introduction of the “Add all tabs” feature in Checkvist web clipper, which I thought was a brilliant feature, it has meant Checkvist has now become my web bookmarks manager, taking over from the built-in Chrome bookmark manager. As I have now amassed 1000’s of bookmarks in Checkvist, I have a major problem - how do I remove duplicate bookmarks that are stored in the many lists, branches and sub-branches in Checkvist? The built-in Chrome bookmark manager has several extensions that can remove duplicate bookmarks.
Has anyone got a workaround allowing this in Checkvist?
Thanks in advance…
Bob

Hello Bob,

Thanks for the question! What would be an ideal scenario from your point of view to handle this issue? I can imagine some kind of duplicates finder, but how would it work from user perspective?

Kind regards,

Hi KIR
Thanks for replying!
As I am not a coder / programmer, I obviously cannot appreciate the work involved in undertaking such a task, or even what the task looks like!
But what I have already tried is:

  1. Using various export formats in Checkvist on the selected items and opening the resulting files in Excel to weed out the duplicates. This does not work, as the URLs appear in different columns and changing the data structure loses folder / subfolder info etc. when importing back into Checkvist.

  2. In Checkvist, searching for items with hyperlinks, copying and pasting this flat list into Excel and removing duplicates, which works fine. However, the problem is that doing this loses folder / subfolder info when pasting or importing back into Checkvist.

So, that’s where I’m up to. Hope you can see a way forwards?
Thanks
Bob
