Dates with Day of the Week Not Processed After Changing Item Text

Enter an item “Task 1 ^Next Saturday” (without the quotes) and as of today it gets processed as Task 1 Sat, Mar 21, but if you edit that item and change any text, say change the 1 to a 2, the item appears as “Task 2 ^Sat, Mar 21, 2020” and the date processor doesn’t seem to recognize the Sat in front of Mar 21, 2020.
