Just noticed today that if I am highlighting/focused on an item and hit the common bold or italic shortcuts, it no longer works. I have to actually edit the markdown of the item. Is it just me? 
Both the standard and beta versions of CheckVist still work fine for me with regard to cntrl-b and cntrl-i. Looks like it may be just your system/setup.

I suppose you may have some browser plugins which interfere with Checkvist keyboard shortcuts. Could this be the case?
Could you try the shortcuts in an incognito mode in the browser, or use another browser - would it work?
I just tested the shortcuts, work fine for me both on the beta and on production sites, with and without editing mode.

Sorry, I should have done more investigation first. So it turns out that it is only affecting list items that contain an emoji and a link. I just happened to try it on a bunch of list items that had both of these and I jumped to the conclusion that it was broken.
Here’s an example. When I have a list item with this markdown:
📦 **[Link](https://www.google.com)**
If I try to un-bold, bold, italicize, etc. from when I am just focusing on the item (not the edit view), it doesn’t work. Not a big deal! Just caught me by surprise.
