I have the Android app on my Pixel phone, where it is working fine as an essential part of my work flow. But it seems now to have disappeared from the App store - so I can’t load it on my new tablet. Do you know what the problem is?

We never released an Android app - only the mobile PWA, as described on Checklists and outlines on your mobile, offline
So on your tablet, you can open https://m.checkvist.com, and save it to the home screen.
I hope the features of the PWA will be sufficient for your use cases.
